It's Okay To Be Prepared
A famous motto is “ Be prepared.”
Being prepared for the worst is not about hoping for the worst. Countries have homeland and national security measures in place to be prepared for possible man-made threats and natural disasters. No one really hopes for the worst, but it is wise to prepare for that possibility, nonetheless.
When circumstances become stressful, you may find it difficult to stay focused on the tasks at hand. Therefore, creating a checklist or to-do list is a method of “pre-planning” and possibly reducing some of the stress brought on by tragic situations.
On the negative side, you might think of pre-planning as planning for the worst. However, on the positive side, pre-planning is a way of minimizing or eliminating the unnecessary burden of not knowing how to handle life-altering situations.
